God speaks to us through creation, through His Word (the Bible), and through the ministry and service of others.  We speak to God through prayer and worship, fostering a relationship with Him that is just not “head knowledge,” but a friendship that comes from the heart. 

•genuine friendships
We are successfully creating ways in which to influence our world from within, one person at a time.  Many people have become active participants in our church because of friendships with other church members.  This has fostered an attitude of purpose towards our relationships with friends and family.  It is always a moment of great joy when the message of Jesus Christ is embraced through the avenue of friendship.

•authentic Bible-teaching 
Because the Bible is the absolute reliable source about God and life, we cultivate opportunities to understand and apply it to our lives.  We intend our preaching and teaching to be based upon scripture, not opinion or other forms of human wisdom.  With creativity, we desire to bring the Bible to life.  It was written to help us in all we say and do.

•nurtured kids
Many of the people who call NHC their home are under four feet tall! These small, precious children provide unlimited ministry opportunities. One of the best things about our church is the way we love kids, teaching them the truths of God’s Word through creative, tangible means. Our team of loving, enthusiastic teachers pour their love for Jesus into weekly lesson preparation and delivery. Every adult volunteer is thoroughly screened and trained, increasing their potential to make a God-inspired, God-empowered impact on our children. Since day one, our kids have been the tail that wags the dog!

•transformed teens 
North Hills Youth is a connection point for both Junior High and High School students, gathering throughout the week.  We are passionate about seeing students come to the full realization that they have been created for a purpose to make a difference in the world.  Our mission is to CONNECT students to Christ and to each other, RELEASING them into their full potential!  

•healthy marriages 
One of the great joys of life is marriage.  When a man and woman discover each other under the banner of God’s love, life is good.  However, as every married couple knows, a healthy marriage takes a lot of hard work.  With lots of encouragement, we want to offer support for the marriage, providing sound teaching and practical advice. 

•servant-like kindness
We exist to serve and bless our community.  We serve, partnering in what our community is doing. We look for new ways to answer our primary question:  How can we bless our community?  We are known as active participants in the mission to make our “neck of the woods” a better place.

•holistic healing
Through the power of the Name of Jesus Christ, we can experience healing.  Physical healing is available, and we ask God for it often.  Emotional, relational, and spiritual healing are also available to those seeking God’s power as an answer to their problems.  We are broken and fragile human beings, but we are also loved by a Heavenly Father–One who heals.

•sincere compassion 
Jesus’ Golden Rule tells us to “do to others as you would have them do to you.”  He teaches us to care for the needs of others, especially the “least of these.”  With sincerity and humility, we desire to help others in their time of need.  As we clothe, feed, and care for others, we treat them as we would treat our Savior.  Everybody matters to God; thus, everybody matters to us.

•well-loved missionaries
Our congregation strives to be participants in global Christianity.  We purposefully bless missionary families in generous ways, even providing homes in Brea where they can stay for a one-year stint when home on furlough.  We work hard to be outwardly aware of the world around us.  We have built many churches overseas, participating in several other specific projects. Presently, we partner with over a hundred missionaries and missionary organizations, taking the message of God’s saving grace to people all around the globe.  We’re doing all we can to fulfill Christ’s very specific command to share His saving work with all people, even those we will never meet.

•spirit-empowered evangelism 
The Holy Spirit gives us the power and boldness to share the saving message of Jesus Christ with everyone we meet.  We refuse to hide the truth of Jesus Christ from the rest of the world, but look for ways to lovingly tell what He has done for us.  Sharing our faith, although it isn’t always easy, does not have to be impossible.  We strive to be authentic and passionate, telling our story:  Jesus Christ saved us!

•released ministers 
Every member of the Body of Christ (the church) is skilled and gifted by the Holy Spirit.  He makes us all good at doing something and it’s usually something different than the other folks around us.  Individually, we don’t get much done, but together, we offer our availability and when it is mixed with God’s ability, nothing is impossible!  Together, we are released to do what God has designed us to do.
